Reconnect nudges and relationship rhythms
Gentle reminders to keep relationships from going quiet
Namory can nudge you to reconnect when it’s been a while. These nudges are based on a relationship rhythm you set for each person.
What a relationship rhythm is
A relationship rhythm is simply “how often I want to check in.”
Examples:
- Weekly for someone you talk to often
- Monthly for a friend you want to keep up with
- Quarterly for someone you want to stay connected to without pressure
How reconnect nudges work
Namory looks at your recent notes for a person and their rhythm. If it has been longer than that rhythm since your last logged note, Namory can surface a reconnect nudge.
Reconnect nudges can appear:
- In the
Plantab - As a notification (if notifications are enabled)
Snoozing a reconnect nudge
On a person profile, you may see a “Reconnect reminder” banner with an option to push the nudge out:
Push to next <rhythm> check-in
This is a way to say “not yet” without turning reconnecting into a hard deadline.
Choosing rhythms that feel kind
A rhythm is meant to support your relationships, not judge them. A couple approaches that work well:
- Start with a longer rhythm and shorten it only if you want more nudges.
- Use different rhythms for different kinds of relationships.
- Treat nudges as “context to consider,” not obligations.
